PHS School records broken

Posted

Kody Kroth’s six touchdown pass performance against Lexington set a new school record.

Sam Wofford’s 27 tackles against CCS also broke the Purcell High School record for number of tackles in a single game.

Kroth’s half dozen scoring strikes broke the school standard of five set by Mike McCurdy in 1968 against Jones.

A total of seven Dragons have recorded four touchdown pass games including two by McCurdy, three by Kroth and one each from Drew Rolin and Garrett Galyean.

Wofford’s effort against Community Christian shattered the old standard shared by three former Dragons.

Steve Gale, Scott Bolton and Lane Howard all registered 22 stops in a single game.

Gale’s big game came in 1977 against Comanche. Bolton set his mark in 1979 against Marlow while Howard set his then record tying number in 2007 against Dickson.

Chris Gilmore, Donnell Martin, Austin Pendley and Ethan Wayland all had 21 tackles in a single game.

Kelly Nemecek, Tom Rivera, Dylan Wilson and Justin Webster all had 20 tackle games.

Nemecek, Gilmore, Byron Mooney and Johnny Marquez all have 19 tackle games to their credit.

Also, the 95 yard touchdown pass play from Kroth to Titus Mason against Lexington set another school record, according to Purcell Athletic Historian Kelly Nemecek.
