Graveside Funeral Services for Millie Brockhaus of Purcell were held Monday, April 27, 2020 at the Fairview Maguire Cemetery near Noble. Services were under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Brockhaus passed away Friday, April 24, 2020, at the age of 104 years and 6 days.

Mildred Florene Wilson was born April 18, 1916 in Wynnewood, Okla., the fourth of seven children born to Archie Miller Wilson and Jessie Zoe (Lewis) Wilson. At a young age, her family moved by wagon to Oklahoma City, where she started school. Millie graduated from Classen High School in 1934.

She married Rex Wall, and together they raised three children, daughter, Suzanne, and sons, Don and Fred. Millie worked hard as a homemaker, caring and providing for her family. After Rex passed away, Millie, now a single mother, made sure her children had everything they needed. She took a job with the Sears Co. in customer service, retiring after more than 22 years of dedicated service.

She later married LeRoy Brockhaus in 1963, and they made their home in Noble for many years, before moving to Lexington in 1996. Millie loved people, and had a huge heart and she would help anyone in need. And regardless of what life could throw at her, she always found a way to enjoy it and overcome.

Her family and friends cherished her, and she was the best grandmother that ever lived! Anyone who ever met her, loved her, and she will be forever remembered for her quick wit and her “Millie-isms”. She was a woman of great faith; a devoted Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Purcell. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by her son, Fred Wall; her infant daughter, Janice Gayle Wall; husband, Rex Wall; parents, Archie and Jessie Wilson and her siblings, Mary Ruth Lowell, Crystal Toland, Louise Taylor, Norman Rhea Bailey, George Wilson and Doyle Wilson.

Millie is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Clark and husband, Merle, of Purcell; son, Don Wall and wife, Rachel, of Schertz, Texas; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
