Michael Charles Bishop, 74, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 surrounded by his family.  Mike was born September 13, 1946 in Purcell, Oklahoma, to Benjamin John Bishop and Virginia Dare Bishop of Purcell, Oklahoma. He graduated from Purcell (Oklahoma) High School in 1964 and enlisted into the Oklahoma Army National Guard in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1972. He was a Staff Sergeant E6 in the 245 Med Company in Midwest City. After his separation from the Army National Guard, he went on to attend Oklahoma State University. At this time Mike decided to join the Oil and Gas industry where he was employed for over 40 years. Mike married Jimmie (Dee) Brewer on July 15, 1979 in Las Vegas.

Mike was the definition of a truly amazing husband, father, grandfather, friend, and colleague. He will be remembered for his contagious smile, jolly laugh, and highly devoted work ethic. Mike was never afraid of hard work. His passion was his family and always helping others.

Mike was a generous and giving person not only to his family but to anyone in need. His faith, family and friends were important to him. Outside of work, he enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and tinkering in his workshop.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin John Bishop and Virginia Dare Bishop.

He is survived by his adoring family, wife of 41 years Jimmie (Dee) Bishop of Gonzales, Texas; daughters Danielle Parsons (Michael) of Jenks, Okla., Tracy McKee (Harold) of Aransas Pass, Texas, Tricia Becker (Darryl) of Gonzales, Texas, and son Randy Burks (Kendra) of Floresville, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Ryan Park, Ashli Dee Malatek, Cade Burks, Chad McKee, Layne Becker and Myles McKee,  great-grandchildren, Alaina Park, Joe McKee, sister, Malinda Huddleston (Dale) of Purcell, OK and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many, many friends.

A Celebration of Life was held Friday, September, 3, 2021 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Forrest Hamilton officiating.  Honorary pallbearers were Will Chesnut, Todd Boales, Julio Garza and Ricky Hardaway.
