A retirement party to honor Lexington Teacher and Coach Tammi Coker will be held June 4 at the Lexington First Baptist Church.

The event will be in Lind Hall at 900 E. Broadway and will be come and go from 2-4 p.m.

Tammi began her career as a student teacher at Purcell Middle School teaching world history, physical education and basketball.

She took her first job at Wanette Public Schools where she taught 7th and 8th grade math, keyboarding, life skills, physical education and coached basketball and track for grades 3-9.

She then took a job with her Alma Mater and for the past 27 years has taught 8th grade pre-algebra and English, 7th and 8th grade leadership and keyboarding, 6th grade world history, geography, math, English and science.

She coached junior high and high school basketball, fast-pitch, slow-pitch softball, middle school academic team and sponsored middle school student council and high school gifted and talented and the senior class.

Save the date and see her off into her next adventure. There will be a memory card box and a picture board for you to share with her from your time together.
