Lexington’s season ends

22-13 season record for Lady ‘Dawgs

It seems Lindsay was Lexington’s Achilles Heel as an 11-0 loss to the Leopardettes last Friday that sent the Lady Bulldogs home.

McKenzie Manuel’s single in the second inning was a bright spot for Lexington in their loss.Other than that, there was not much offense to be had.

Brodie Anderson led the game off in the circle for Lexington. She went two innings and allowed four runs on two hits. Cora Vasquez and Hannah Garrett came in in relief, but weren’t able to stem the tide.

Regional Tournament

To kick off the Regional, Lexington beat Newkirk 9-3 on Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Bulldogs consistently put up runs on the Lady Tigers, led off by Anderson’s double in the first inning to get them going.

Izzy Pack had a long ball in the fourth.

Lexington had 12 hits in the win. Anderson was the leader at the plate going 3-4. Kieley Givens and Kora Parker had two hits each. Pack, Vasquez, KK Vazquez, Maison Sissney and Abby Sample had one hit apiece.

After the win, Lexington faced host Lindsay. They fell to the Leopardettes 8-3.

Lindsay’s pitcher was red hot, finishing the game with 13 strikeouts.

Lexington managed six hits with Anderson and Givens leading the way with two.

Vasquez was in the circle, but she didn’t last long. Pack came in in relief, fanning five batters.

The loss to Lindsay forced another game with Newkirk on Friday.

Lexington beat the Lady Tigers  5-2 in walk-off fashion.

Down 2-1, Parker had a single in the fifth inning to score a run and tie the game.

With the score knotted at two-all in the seventh inning, Sissney had a walk-off double to score three runs and win the game.

Lexington had five hits and five RBIs, led by Sissney who was 2-3 at the plate.

Earlier in the season, Lexington beat Lindsay in the Murray County Bash, 8-3.

The Lady Bulldogs finished their season with a 22-13 record.

Several girls will be lost to graduation including Pack, Vasquez, Maddie Manuel, Leslie Barber, and Alexis Feuerborn.
