Lex loses at Davis

Posted

Despite double figure scoring from both Madison Manuel and Rylee Beason Lexington came up on the short end of a 47-39 score at Davis last Friday night.

Manuel canned 17 points and pulled nine rebounds while Beason chipped in a baker’s dozen.

“Madison Manuel stepped up big inside and Beason had a few threes and handled the ball well for us,” head coach Derek Clark said.

“Jaci Idlett was really good on the glass and had a few good assists,” Clark continued. “I feel we are so close to putting it all together with a very young basketball team that didn’t get a summer and has been on and off quarantine.

“I’m excited to continue to grow every game in a tough conference. I’m excited for the future,”

Clark continued.

For the Bulldogs Heath Winterton and Teagin Pruitt are the only returning starters for JD Beck’s squad.

Beck is 54-60 as he settles into his fourth season at the helm of the Bulldogs.

“Our team strength is our numbers,” Beck said. “I have plenty of kids out this season,” Beck said. “Since we had no summer we are very inexperienced. It is tough working through a pandemic,” he said.
