Leslie Barber’s bat was red hot in Lexington’s 19-10 win at home Monday over Lindsay.

Barber went 4-4 leading the Lady Bulldogs who cranked out 24 hits as a team in their sixth victory of the season.

Barber tripled in the third and doubled in the sixth inning to go with a pair of singles and finished with three RBIs.

Maddie Pack, who picked up the pitching win in the circle, led the RBI parade with four in a 3-5 performance that included a home run.

Kiely Givens also went yard in the game in a 3-4 performance that also included a double.

Abby Turnpaugh and Marisa Northrup both went 3-4 in the game and both had a pair of RBIs.

Abby Sample chipped in an RBI with a 3-5 outing at the plate.

After Lindsay opened the scoring in the first with a run Lexington struck back with a vengeance pushing across three in the bottom of the frame.

The Leopardettes put up a three spot in the second but Lexington knotted the score in the bottom of the second with a run tying the score at four-all.

The Lady Bulldogs broke the game open in the third scoring four times and adding two in the fourth and five in the fifth. They ended their scoring spree with a four-run sixth.

Both teams committed six errors in the game. Lexington out-hit Lindsay 24-13.

“Our bats are peaking at the right time,” head coach Kayla Stewart said.  “We need to clean up some defensive miscues to put it all together and to be competitive in the playoffs.”

Lexington was scheduled to host Purcell for senior night Tuesday and will travel to Washington for the district tournament today (Thursday) to face Hennessey and the Lady Warriors.

Lexington and Hennessey open the tournament at 11 a.m. today with the loser facing Washington at 12:30 p.m.

The winner of game one will play Washington at 2 p.m.
