Kelley Baca for her 5 questions

Posted

Editor’s note: Answering  The Purcell Register’s five questions this week is Kelley Baca, broker-owner of Baca Realty Group.

Q: You are in the business of listing, selling and leasing homes. What type of home do you personally prefer?

A: The type of home I personally prefer for myself is a farmhouse style.

However, I absolutely love and appreciate all types of homes. Especially older homes with a lot of character have so much potential. A little vision and TLC can go a long way in restoring a home’s original appeal.

One of my favorite aspects in real estate is working with investors and helping them grow and maintain their investment portfolios. I’m a numbers girl so when I see a good investment opportunity with a good return I send it off to my investors to see if it would be a good fit for them. I then take over management of the property so they can literally invest with peace of mind knowing my team and I will take care of everything from leasing to maintaining their investment properties.

Q: Is this a good time to work in real estate?

A: I feel like it’s always a good time to work in real estate. I’ve been in the industry for nearly 15 years and absolutely love what I do. It can be hard work and it takes a lot of follow up and staying on top of things. It’s also important to be able to adapt with the changing markets. For example we at Baca Realty love helping buyers find their dream home and sellers move on to the next chapter in their life. However I’ve also incorporated commercial, investments and property management into my Brokerage portfolio to become a fully diversified one-stop shop real estate company. If you have a drive and passion for helping people find their dream homes or grow their investments, then real estate is a great opportunity. The main thing I love is the flexibility it gives me for my family. My family is the most important to me and being able to be with them when needed is a priority. You can be successful and run a successful business and still be present for everything!

Q: The pandemic is still affecting the economy. Why are so many people buying homes now?

A: The market is hot! Interest rates are low and inventory is low so that creates a sellers’ market. Inventory is low because many home owners are not selling with the current pandemic; however, we always see an influx of buyers between March and August. This is considered buying season. I don’t think we are seeing more buyers, but we are seeing less inventory so that creates multiple offer situations which is also driving up the prices.

Q: What is the one feature buyers overwhelmingly want in a home today?

A: Most buyers are looking for homes with open floor plans and modern updated kitchens

Q: What is something most people don’t know about you?

A: Something most people don’t know about me is that I’m terrified of public speaking and although nice, praise and recognition make me feel a little uncomfortable.
