It is a short work week for many.
With July 4 falling on Saturday, government offices are taking Friday as a holiday, allowing workers to enjoy a 3-day weekend.
Those closings include state and federal offices, as well as the McClain County Courthouse and city offices in Purcell, Goldsby, Lexington, Washington and Wayne.
There will be no mail delivery on Friday and Saturday.
McClain Bank and Purcell Public Library will be closed on Saturday. First United Bank will be closed as well.
Among businesses closed on Friday will be The Purcell Register.
