Funeral services for Joey Hudson, 42, of Purcell will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mr. Hudson passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019.

Jimmy Joey Hudson was born July 14, 1977 in Purcell, Okla. His parents were Jimmy Wayne Hudson and Karen Sue Bebout. Joey was raised in Purcell and attended Purcell Schools, graduating with the Class of 1995.

Joey played football and was a standout baseball player for the Dragons. His ability to hit the ball earned him a scholarship at St. Gregory’s University. Joey worked a variety of jobs throughout the years. He was a roofer, spent some time testing soil and even worked as a bartender. Most recently, he worked as a nurses aid in home health.

Joey loved people and his compassion for others worked well with his abilities as a nurse. Joey was an avid sports fan, and particularly the Kansas City Chiefs, and he never missed an OU Football game. Joey loved music and loved sharing his talents on his drum set. Joey was proud of his daughter, Shelby and son, Braden.

Life at times wasn’t easy for Joey. He battled diabetes and other health issues, and he always managed to find his way. He was a loving father and son, brother, uncle and a great friend. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Jessie Hudson and Clarence and Vinnie Cook.

Joey is survived by his children, daughter Shelby Fitzer and son, Braden Hudson, both of Oklahoma City; his parents, Mother, Karen Hobbs and husband, John, of Purcell and  Father, Jimmy Hudson and wife, Teri, of Purcell; his siblings, Michael Hobbs and wife, Charity, of Tecumseh, Johnny Rogers of Norman, Sherri Jacques and husband, Bobby, of Kansas City, Mo., Sara McCune and husband, Kenny, of Wentzville, Mo., and DeDe Roberts and husband, Tim, of Purcell; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
