A Memorial Celebration of the life of Jerry Dan Whatley, 78, of Purcell was held Dec. 21, 2022 at Iron Chapel Church, west of Purcell. Services were under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Mr. Whatley died Dec.15, 2022 at the Norman Health Plex.
He was born April 30, 1044 in Purcell, the middle child of three children of Kenneth Eugene Whatley and Ruby Mae Shea Whatley.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of the home outside of Purcell; five children, David Whatley and wife, Brandie, of Muskogee, AJ Whatley Matthews of Bristow, Okla., Susie Whatley Walker of Lexington, Christina Abbott and husband, Lee, of Lawton and Kelli Gomme and husband, J.R., of Purcell; two sisters, Norma Tracey and husband, Ronny, of Oklahoma City and Sandy McCaskill of Purcell; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
