Filing for statewide offices begins April 13

County candidates file at the election board

Filing for county and state-wide offices is just around the corner.

Filing opens at 8 a.m. April 13 and closes at 5 p.m. April 15.

Candidates for state-wide offices will file in Oklahoma City at the State Election Board.

Candidates for county offices will file at the county election board at the courthouse at 121 N. Second Avenue.

Filing forms and information may be obtained by contacting the election board at 405 527-3121 or mcclaincounty@elections.ok.gov.

The office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

McClain County offices to be filled this year include the assessor, county treasurer, county commissioners District 1 and District 3, associate district judge and district judge.

Statewide offices up for grabs include U. S. Senate, both James Lankford and filling the position of James Inhofe who is retiring, Governor, Lt. Governor, Superintendent of Public Instruction, State Insurance Commissioner State Auditor and Inspector, Commissioner of Labor, Corporation Commission (1), District Attorney, even numbered State Senate disticts and all State House of Representative districts.

The general election will be November 8.
