Dragon Lunch program accepting donations

Volunteers with the Dragon Lunch Account organization are accepting donations for the program for the first semester of the school year.

The Dragon Lunch Account program, now in its fourth year,  ensures low income students have funds in their school lunch accounts for meals at school.

Donors help children’s accounts stay current throughout the school year.

Volunteers have raised over $22,000 for student meals since the program started.

“Kids have a hard time focusing at school when they’re hungry,” said Dragon Lunch Account program organizer Jay Tate. “Some kids just need a little extra help with their accounts.”

Money for kids’ accounts are paid at the end of each nine week period and the end of the semester is approaching.

In addition to Tate’s Venmo and Cash App accounts below, donations for the program can also be made to the program’s account at Purcell’s First United Bank.
