The Lexington Bulldogs split their games last week, dropping a 42-38 loss to Davis on Thursday and picking up a two overtime, 55-46 win over Dibble.
In Friday’s win over Dibble, the two teams kept it close the entire game, with Lexington holding a 17-16 halftime lead.
In the second half, Dibble outscored Lex 21-20, sending the game to overtime.
Both teams scored seven in the extra minutes, tying it up and extending the game once again.
It was free throws that were the difference for Lexington in the second overtime – making five of ten from the charity stripe. Dibble scored just one basket in the final overtime.
Cash Dierking and Elijah Pearman were Lexington’s leading scorers with 19 and 17, respectively.
On Thursday, Lexington dropped a game with Davis, 38-42.
Pearman and Colt Mixon were the leading scorers with 17 and 10, respectively.
It was a tight game the whole way through. Lexington held a 22-17 lead at halftime.
And, the Bulldogs came out of the lockerroom and outscored Davis 13-8 in the third quarter.
However, the fourth quarter saw Dierking and Elijah Pearman foul out, and Davis outscored Lex 17-10, the difference in the game.
Girls
The Lady ‘Dawgs dropped both games last week, a 63-11 loss to Davis and a 54-27 loss to Dibble.
Lexie Torres was Lexington’s leading scorer against Dibble. She had 11 points. Dulce Rodriguez added five.
The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs were on the road at Latta on Tuesday then Little Axe on February 18.
District assignments were released and Lexington will travel across the county to Washington. They will play on February 22 at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
