Wayne sophomore Kaleb Madden and the Wayne Bulldogs are in Crescent today (Thursday) for the District tournament. They will play two games and an if-necessary game Friday – weather permitting.
Head coach Shane Collins and his Bulldogs are in Crescent today (Thursday) for Districts.
They face the Tigers for two games today and the if-necessary game is scheduled for Friday.
“Crescent is a good team, a good matchup for Wayne.
“We are practicing hard and trying to clean up a few things in the lead up to Districts,” Collins said.
Last Thursday, Wayne hosted Apache in a 7-3 loss to the Warriors.
The Bulldogs claimed the early lead with one run in the first and two in the second.
Apache answered with one run in the third, five in the fourth and their final run of the game in the fifth inning.
Wayne had five hits by Rhett Kennedy, Jr. Perez, Lane Jones and Brian Ibarra. Kaleb Madden had an RBI.
Andy Lee was on the bump for four innings. He had seven strikeouts.
Madden came in in relief. He had one strike out.
