Baseball ends for Lexington

Posted

Despite excellent pitching by freshman Drew Dierking, Lexington’s baseball season ended with a 4-0 extra inning loss at Perry last Thursday.

Dierking went the entire eight innings yielding just five hits but the Maroons touched him for four runs in their half of the eighth.

Wyatt Webb was 2-3 at the plate while Braydon Loyd and Skylar Rollins both had doubles in the game.

In the first game, Perry pinned a 10-2 loss on the Bulldogs despite Zeke Faulkenberry going a perfect 3-3 at the plate including an RBI.

Lexington scored first pushing across a run in the top of the first but Perry came back to score four in the bottom of the third to take the lead for good.

The Bulldogs also got hits from Loyd, Webb, Rollins, Jacob Turnpaugh and Mayson Fink.

Lexington finished the season 2-22.
