0-5 start for Wayne Bulldogs

Head coach Braiden Black and his Bulldogs were in Apache last Tuesday where they fell to the Warriors 13-1.

Wayne scored their lone run in the fourth inning. They had five hits in the loss. Brian Ibarra accounted for two of those hits.

They hosted Calera for a double header on Thursday and fell the Bulldogs 15-0 in game one and 11-0 in game two.

In an attempt to save pitching for the games with Colbert, Black rotated pitchers frequently in the contests with Calera.

Freshman Rhett Kennedy was a bright spot in the pitching for Wayne. He had a strike out and game up no runs in his one inning on the mound.

Friday’s double header with Colbert was canceled due to weather.

Due to the ruling by the State Board of Education to close schools and suspend all extracurricular activities until April 6, the current schedule of games has changed drastically.

Wayne is scheduled to play Wynnewood and Dibble on April 6 and host Apache on April 7.
